The case of policy frameworks for sustainable energy and the built environment.

Policy integration is assumed to be best practice, a way of ensuring that goals are met. Through such integration, it is argued, tensions between different policy frameworks and institutions, pulling in different directions, can be avoided and gaps in the overall policy package for a specific goal can be filled.
