This moving image work by Rastko Novakovic and Ger Duijzings is a record of a number of processes. It is a reflection by an anthropologist on his practice, on memory, witnessing, the writing and uses of history. It is a visceral record of 9 filmmakers recording a performance and performing individual and group video rhetoric. It is an antidote to sensational, jingoistic, propagandist treatments of the war in Yugoslavia. And it is simultaneously a tracing of spaces of conflict in London (terrorist attacks, national wars, racist targetting) and the ripping apart of individuals, communities and a nation (Yugoslavia). It is a meditation on the one and the multitude - and a reflection on the physics of time.
