Christine Gaspar, Director of the Centre for Urban Pedagogy, New York, will give the Urban Rooms keynote lecture. The Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP) is a non-profit organisation that uses the power of design and art to increase meaningful civic engagement.

The centre's projects demystify the urban policy and planning issues that impact communities so that more individuals can better participate in shaping them. Their projects are collaborations of art and design professionals, community-based advocates and policymakers, and staff. These projects take on complex issues—from the juvenile justice system to zoning law and food access—and break them down into simple, accessible, visual explanations.
