Our relationship with the natural world has changed over the last 50 years. As we’ve became increasingly aware of the our impacts of our activities on nature the goals of nature conservation has changed, we’ve moved from the idea of protecting wild areas from people to managing ecosystems for our benefit. Professor Dame Georgiana Mace, FRS, presents a history of nature conservation and asks is nature for us?
