Speaker: Dr Joao Barata, Instituto de Medicina Molecular, Unversity of Lisbon, Portugal.

The lab of Dr. Barata focuses on studying the signal transduction pathways that are deregulated in cancer by cell-autonomous lesions and microenvironmental cues. His work, which identified important genetic and posttranslational alterations promoting lymphoid leukemia particularly focused around IL-7/IL-7R axis.
