Speaker information
David Wilkinson, Director, JRC Institute for Environment and Sustainability
This talk introduces you to David William's work which aims for us to have a better management of water for our future. He will illustrate the range of satellite images that his Team have access to and how they managed to map world's surface water by computing huge amount of data. He will use examples to show just how water shortages can have dramatic social, economic and even political impact, and how we can promote local evidence-based solutions to our global problems.
