CDCN Seminar: Development and plasticity of the corticospinal system: relevance for rehabilitation

Location

Leolin Price Lecture Theatre, Lower Ground Floor | UCL Institute of Child Health (link Map)
30 Guilford Street | London | WC1N 1EH | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

Speaker information: Professor Janet Eyre, Paediatric Neuroscience, University of Newcastle. Host: UCL Centre for Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience. Abstract: Stroke involving the corticospinal system occurs at all ages from birth to old age. It is a good model therefore to examine development and plasticity of the corticospinal system across the life span. The lecture will address evidence of activity dependent plasticity of the corticospinal system from birth to old age, the implications for recovery of motor control after lesions at varying ages and how this knowledge can be harnessed to provide appropriately focused rehabilitation.
