Would you take responsibility for your past actions if you had the opportunity to start anew?

Almost two decades after the end of World War One, amnesic veteran Gaston has given up hope on regaining his memory. But his quiet new life is disrupted by a visit to the Renaud family, who claim to recognise him as their long lost son. Gradually, he acquaints himself with the person he appears to have been before the war and is tragically surprised by his findings. Gaston’s story raises fundamental questions about how we relate to our past and the extent to which we can choose our own identity.
