Art makes teachers powerful

Location

Menier Gallery | 51 Southwark Street (link Map)
London | SE1 1RU | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Alumni | Public | Student
Admission: Free

Bob and Roberta Smith’s recent statement that “Art makes Children powerful” argues for greater value in cultural learning. We believe it is as important for teachers as it is for children. Artist teachers should have the freedom to challenge and inspire young people, and to draw on their subject knowledge and experiences to translate and extend understanding of art and design in the classroom.

This show has been organised by current PGCE art and design students studying at UCL Institute of Education. The artist teachers exhibiting represent a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds in the arts.

Friday Lates until 8pm
