Forced Marriage is illegal in the UK and has a huge impact on the lives of the people it affects, and yet, little is known about it.

Please join us for an insightful and frank discussion of the subject, where an expert panel will reflect on contemporary issues – including the concept of izzat (honour) – recent changes in UK law, and barriers to tackling forced marriage, as well as reasons to be hopeful of positive change.

A screening of the award-winning documentary, Honor Diaries, will introduce the relevant topics and highlight the work of activists across the world that are fighting for women’s rights.

Afterwards there will be refreshments as well as networking opportunities from 8:30pm.

This event is generously supported by UCL Grand Challenges, UCL Institute for Women’s Health, The Red House Consulting Ltd, Dawson Cornwell and Addidi Wealth Ltd.
