Pathogens and Policy Making: What Happens When Science, Public Health and Policy Collide?

Wilkins Haldane Room | Wilkins Building (link Map)
Gower St | London | WC1E 6BT | United Kingdom

Open to: Student

UCL Division of Infection & Immunity Postgraduate Club meeting.

Speaker: Dr Leila Luheshi, Head of Science, PHG Foundation.

Leila's talk will be about the use of pathogen whole genome sequencing as an example of the 'journey' a technology goes on to get from lab to use in our health system, and will include science, policy and politics, with some career insights thrown in along the way.

There will be food and drinks after the talk and a chance to talk to the speaker.

The UCL PostGradClub is a forum to allow students and postdocs to hear from and meet a broad range of speakers. The committee is made up of PhD students registered in the UCL Division of Infection and Immunity but is open to all. The club places an emphasis on providing insight into a broad range of topics and fields to inform people about future career options, especially those that lab scientists might be less aware of.
