Speaker information

Professor George Efstathiou, Speaker, Camrbridge University
Professor Ofer Lahav, Speaker, UCL Physics & Astronomy

The event will be a dialog between two well known cosmologists, Profs George Efstathiou (Cambridge) and Ofer Lahav (UCL). It is aimed mainly for attendees of the Euclid Consortium Meeting, but is also open to scientists and students with the appropriate interests from the wider academic community. As launch approaches, we in the Consortium are interested in exploring more widely the significance of what the Euclid mission may reveal, both in Cosmology and the wider Physical Sciences. It also seems a particularly good time to be discussing this on the 100th Anniversary year of Lambda. This event discusses some of the broader issues in cosmology beyond the directed goals of the Euclid mission, in particular the initial conditions in the Universe and what Lambda really is.
