UCL Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre - PPI Training: ‘Facilitation skills for PPI’

(link Map)
Queen Mary University of London | London | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The National Institute for Health Research University College London Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre in partnership with UCLPartners is running a programme of regular award-winning workshops for clinical academic researchers on patient and public involvement (PPI) in research.

This workshop is for beginners (people who are new to the active involvement of patients and the public in research). This practical, interactive workshop is for people who want to run one-off discussions with groups of patients and the public. This might be to help to identify or prioritise research topics, to assist in research design or to think about the analysis or dissemination of research.

This workshop will help you to:

  • Be clear about why you want to run a one-off group discussion (as opposed to other types of involvement activities)
  • Plan and run the meeting effectively
  • Explore techniques for facilitating discussions
  • Prepare a draft outline for a ‘one-off’ meeting for your research
