Speaker information

Paolo Viscardi, Natural History Curator, Horniman Museum, Paolo Viscardi is a natural history curator at the Horniman Museum, science blogger, administrator for science Q&A site askabiologist.org.uk and co-founder of London Science in the Pub and CineSci.

From mermaids to the Montauk monster, there is an interest in the unusual that can whip up a storm of speculation and spectacle. Cutting through hype, sensationalism and misinformation is vital when searching for the truth.

Paolo Viscardi will be exploring some weird objects from the past and present - using scientific collections and methods to get beneath the surface of mosnters, mermaids and mistaken identities.

Join us for our regular fortnightly event, as usual there will be interesting debate, talk, chatter and the essential free drink and trip to the Jeremy Bentham pub afterwards.
