Is it really true that women participate in politics less than men? The answer might be ‘yes’, if we only consider the under-representation of women in formal political institutions such as parliaments. However, the reality is that women have a long history of engaging with politics outside official democratic structures. Examining women's diverse relationship to politics, the talk will explore the ways in which we can build a fairer and more equal society.
