Speaker information

Dr Catherine O’Keeffe

In this seminar we will explore our experiences of 'what it is to be a healthcare professional' and the associated tensions and dilemmas that may lead to ill health or prevent us from accessing appropriate treatment and care when needed. The seminar will be informed by theoretical perspectives on traditional and emerging models of professionalism and consideration given to how we can educate students, trainees and colleagues to take care of their own health in professional practice. A brief overview of the services available at Head Education North West London’s pan-London Professional Support Unit will be given. The format of the seminar will be a presentation of approximately 30 minutes followed by an interactive discussion.
