Speaker information

William Tantam, Goldsmiths, University of London

In this presentation, William Tantam will discuss the ways in which social and economic hierarchies are embodied and enacted in Jamaica.

Drawing on research compiled during 14 months of ethnographic fieldwork in Black River, Jamaica, Tantam suggests that the football field offers a unique insight into the geography of contemporary masculinities and overlapping issues of social and economic disparities.Attendance is free of charge but registration is required.
