Research, impact and the UK Parliament: London

Location

University College London (link Map)
London | WC1E 6BT | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

Could your research have an impact in the UK Parliament? Discover how your research could broaden debate and better inform our democracy at Research, Impact and the UK Parliament.

During this interactive three hour training session you will learn: • How to contact MPs and Members of the House of Lords about your research; • How to work with Select Committees and submit evidence drawing on your research; • How to work with Parliament to improve your REF case studies.

The session is hosted by Parliament’s Universities Team and will include presentations from the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, a clerk of a House of Commons Select Committee and Parliament’s Outreach and Engagement Service. The event includes afternoon tea and a chance to network following the training. There is an attendance fee of £40, including VAT. UCL Public Policy is offering 25 partially-funded places for this event, covering half the entry fee (£20).
