The Economist is one of the world's most influential news magazines, and this year reaches its 175th birthday. The magazine's current editor, Zanny Minton Beddoes, and three previous editors will take part in a panel debate, hosted by Ruth Dudley Edwards - author of "The Pursuit of Reason: The Economist 1843-1993".

Topics will include the recent history of the publication, political economy, cosmopolitanism and the global media.

This is a free public event, being held in parallel with a conference on economics in the media being organised by UCL.
