Speaker information

Claude Moraes, Labour MEP
Nicola Countouris, Law Lecturer, UCL Laws

A panel discussion jointly convened by the UCL Labour Rights Institute and the UCL European Institute chaired by Nicola Countouris, Law Lecturer, UCL Laws.

Last July, two legislative proposals were put forward by the European Commission, which addressed the temporary immigration of 'third country nationals' into the EU for purposes of employment. This panel discussion will aim to present and discuss the proposed directives in detail, place them within their policy context, and weigh up arguments both in favour and against EU legislative involvement in this area.

Speakers include Claude Moraes, Labour MEP. Other speakers will be confirmed shortly.

This event forms part of UCL Migration Week which runs from Monday 4 April to Friday 8 April 2011.
