Speaker information

Dr. Paul Virander, Deputy High Commissioner of India

The idea of India – embodying its rich civilizational heritage, its well-entrenched democracy and its teeming diversity, its ethos for tolerance and pluralism; and above all, its self-confidence to re-emerge from any challenges continue to thrive in contemporary India. How far has India travelled in these last 67 years since independence? And how has India evolved since then? Most significantly, what part has the youth of India played in this evolution? With its credentials as the world’s largest democracy, the 7th largest country, the 3rd largest economy and the 3rd largest military, India has secured its place among the comity of nations.
