Insightful education - incorporating perspectives of sight impaired people into the clinical curriculum

United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

Presented by the UCL Personalised Medicine Domain Early Careers Network and UCL Arena Exchange Session.

This seminar presents an example of how PhD research students / early career researchers might become involved in teaching and education.

We will describe the UCL Liberating the Curriculum (LTC) Grant project entitled "Embedding the Perspectives of the Visually Impaired Community into the Clinical Curriculum at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology", as an example of methodology to introduce diversity into the MSc in Clinical Ophthalmology. We will give a brief overview of the UCL Connected Curriculum for developing research-based education with a few examples of teaching and skills-development opportunities for early career researchers at UCL.
