Explore queer urbanism and speculations on the future of the capital’s LGBTQ+ built heritage. Curated by Ben Campkin and Laura Marshall (UCL Urban Laboratory) the event will feature a queer rendition of the 1931 Beaux Arts Ball, in which modernist architects dressed as their skyscrapers. Performances by a group of urbanists and artists who will personify London’s lost LGBTQ+ nightlife venues, wearing architectural models and dresses made of town planning applications, will be followed by provocations and discussion on the history and value of London’s queer spaces.
