Egyptian art: Ancient till now

Location

G6 Lecture Theatre | UCL Institute of Archaeology (link Map)
31–34 Gordon Square | London | WC1 | United Kingdom

Dr Ayman El-Kharrat’s documentary film investigates the link between ancient Egyptian and contemporary art in Egypt. The 50-minute documentary was shot in over 23 locations around Egypt and covers tombs, temples, museums, ancient churches and mosques. Through examples of ancient art and interviews with Egyptologists, artists and art critics, it shows how ancient Egyptian art reacted to foreign influences, absorbed them and built upon them.
