A display highlighting the magnificent objects of the UCL Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology's collection from Amarna. The exhibition also explores the ambiguous and contentious figure of Akhenaten. Considered by some as ‘deviant’, by others as a hero, can we ever know who Akhenaten really was or can we only creatively imagine him in opera, art and fiction?
