The Rt. Hon John Gummer, Lord Deben, Chair, Committee on Climate Change, Lord Deben, was the longest serving Secretary of State for the Environment the UK has ever had (1993-97). His sixteen years of top-level ministerial experience also include Secretary of State for Agriculture, Fisheries & Food, Minister for London, Employment Minister and Paymaster General in HM Treasury.
He has consistently championed an identity between environmental concerns and business sense. To that end, he set up and now runs Sancroft, a Corporate Responsibility consultancy working with blue-chip companies around the world on environmental, social and ethical issues. Lord Deben is Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, Valpak Limited, and the Association of Professional Financial Advisers.
Michelle T Davies, lobal Head of the Clean Energy and Sustainability, Eversheds, Michelle is the Global Head of the Clean Energy and Sustainability Group which has advised on over 30GW of renewable energy projects globally. She advises across all technologies: offshore and onshore wind, biomass, solar, hydro and biofuels. Clients include utilities, IPPs, private equity and infrastructure funds, institutional investors, banks and Governments. Michelle is actively involved in policy and regulation. Michelle is on the Advisory Board of MESIA and the policy committee of the Saudi Solar Industry Association.
