27 Sussex Place | London | NW1 4RG | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Alumni | Public | Student

The UK Collaborative Trial of Ovarian Cancer Screening (UKCTOCS) was designed to determine how many lives could be saved by screening for ovarian cancer. The trial coordinated from UCL, commenced in 2001 and has involved 13 centres across the UK.

UKCTOCS is one of the largest trials ever performed and is the result of an unprecedented UK wide collaboration. This collaboration has involved 202,638 women, hundreds of health care professionals, universities, the NHS, GP practices and major UK funding agencies (Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, the National Institute of Health Research and The Eve Appeal).

After 670,000 screens and over 13 years of follow-up, the initial analysis of the impact of screening on mortality is now available.

You can view a live stream of the meeting where the mortality results will be discussed for the first time. Members of the UKCTOCS research team will present the results, answer questions and talk about next steps.
