The HSE is an annual survey of a nationally-representative sample of the general population living in private homes in England. Each year, the survey has a new sample and a different focus as well as many core elements.

The latest survey, HSE 2010, included modules on respiratory symptoms and disease and lung function in adults and children, sexual health, wellbeing, dental health, and measurements of vitamin D levels as well as its core elements.
