Based on the Lawrence Durrell novel set in 1930s Alexandria. Darley, a young British schoolmaster and poet, is introduced by a British official Pursewarden to Justine, the mysterious wife of an Egyptian banker. But is Justine involved in a movement to arm the Jewish underground in Palestine and undermine British rule. Introduced by Michael Berkowitz (UCL Hebrew & Jewish Studies).
