One in six people in the UK has a hearing loss, thus deafness is far from being rare. With an ageing population, deafness will become more common, both in the workplace and society as a whole. We'll be disucssing the following questions:

  • Are you deaf aware?
  • Do all deaf and hard of hearing people have a particular talent for lip-reading? Try our lip-reading activity and find out.
  • What is British Sign Language (BSL)? Want to learn BSL or find out more about it?

Organised by UCL Staff Disability Forum and UCL Deafness, Cognition and Language (DCAL) Centre.

Note: BSL-English interpreters and palantypists will be present.
