But what do we know of Beatrix Potter’s life and inspirations? The recent film, Miss Potter, focused on her experiences in the Lake District, but she was born and lived for many years in London. "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and all her other books were published by Frederick Warne & Co, based in Bedford Street, close to UCL’s campus. Join us to discover how what London looked like during Beatrix’s lifetime, how it was changing, and how the city shaped and inspired her life and work.
