The National Institute for Health Research University College London Hospitals Biomedical Research Centre in partnership with UCLPartners is running a programme of regular award-winning workshops for clinical academic researchers on patient and public involvement (PPI) in research.

This workshop is for beginners (people who are new to the active involvement of patients and the public in research). This is a practical, interactive workshop for people who are working with or chairing committees or steering groups that may have or intend to have patient or public involvement.

This workshop will help you to:

  • Be clear about why you are involving patients and/or members of the public in this way
  • Be clear about the role of patient representatives
  • Explore some of the benefits and challenges of this type of involvement
  • Plan how to involve people effectively
