Speaker information

Professor Michel Fayol, Blaise Pascal University, Clermont-Ferrand, France

Professor Michel Fayol will explore the links between the cognitive processes involved in reading, spelling and written text production. There will be a 50 minute lecture, followed by questions.

The contribution of Emeritus Professor Michel Fayol in the field of written symbolic systems applies to a wide range of education fields. His research focuses on written production and in particular on spelling and the different ways in which it can be acquired. He has also contributed to a large body of evidence in the field of numerical knowledge: from early number acquisition to the resolution of complex mathematical problems.

A drinks reception will be held at the end of the lecture from 19:00 to 20:00.
