An introduction to infectious disease genomics – an IDRN event

Location

Royal Society (link Map)
6-9 Carlton House Terrace | London | SW1Y 5AG | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The day will be pitched at 'beginner level' to give an idea of the topics and concepts covered in this area. As infectious disease genomics becomes rapidly more mainstream and relevant to clinical practice and translational research, it is increasingly important for academics, clinical staff and public health professionals to understand what genomics can and cannot do, what its data requirements are, and how to critically appraise the outputs.

There will also be case studies from researchers who are active in genomics from the point of view of bacteriology, virology and mycology.

Speakers will be Michael Head (IDRN and UCL), David Cleary (Southampton), Judy Breuer (UCL), Nick Loman (Birmingham), Dan Frampton (UCL), Johanna Rhodes (Imperial), Phillip Ashton (Public Health England), Tom Fowler (Genomics England), and Claudio Koser (Cambridge).
