A discussion led by Caroline Bressey (UCL Equiano Centre) and Debbie Challis based on letters between the archaeologist W. M. Flinders Petrie and African-American activist and intellectual W. E. B. DuBois on the ‘Negro problem’. These letters were published in The Crisis - A Record of the Darker Races (1912) after the two men had met at the 1911 Universal Races Congress.
