Carole Reeves (UCL Science Technology Studies) explores the search for wellbeing in the ancient past. Enjoying a healthy, contented, stress-free life was as important to people in the ancient world as it is to us today. Attention to one's diet, lifestyle, environment, rest, exercise, sex life, bowel movements and emotional state were integral to preserving health and maintaining wellbeing in communities from Cathay to Carthage.
