UCL Bat Week
Grant Museum of Zoology |
21 University Street | London | WC1E 6JJ | United Kingdom
What’s not to love about bats? They are found living almost everywhere in the world, they can be as big as small dogs such as some species of flying foxes or like the Kitti’s hog nosed bat, as small as a bee. Not only are they the only flying mammal in the world they use ultrasonic sounds to detect, locate and even classify their prey in complete darkness.
The Grant Museum of Zoology will be going batty with a range for activities along a bat theme for all. Discover more about the bats of London, meet scientists from the Bat Conservation Trust about efforts to conserve British bat species, find out more about how you can become a bat detective from the comfort of your home, meet Biggles, the GIANT bat in our family day and immerse yourself in a bat soundscape with In the Dark radio collective.
Forget everything you thought you knew about bats and join us in a week of activities to take a fresh look at these charismatic animals.
