Take a tour round The Petrie Museum and meet some of the influential female characters who made the career of Flinders Petrie and created, nutured and saved The Petrie Museum. They include writer Amelia Edwards, Egyptologist (and witch) Margaret Murray, Pre-raphaelite model, archaeologist and wife Hilda Urlin Petrie, wartime heroine Violet La Fleur and curator and doyenne of Predynastic Egypt Barbara Adams. The evening will offer a chance to converse with these women and find out more about the Egyptology collection to celebrate International Women’s Day.
