Speaker information

Dr Andrea Spezzi, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, Orchard Therapeutics

The £50 million UCL Technology Fund exists not only to provide direct funding for the development of ideas into real-world impact, but also to support entrepreneurship and translational activities in general, providing hands-on advice and helping you think about the best way of getting technology out there.

We are pleased to be holding a general end-of-exam-term social in the Winter Garden Room on the 7th June.

We're also honoured to host a brief talk on the transition from the clinic to industry by Dr Andrea Spezzi, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of ICH spin-out company Orchard Therapeutics. Based on the work of Profs Bobby Gaspar and Adrian Thrasher, Orchard is working to develop ex vivo gene therapies aimed at curing a range of severe childhood diseases, supported in part by the UCL Technology Fund. Proudly supported by UCL Business and Albion Ventures.
