This session with Professor Sonu Shamdasani and Dr Martin Liebscher reconstructs the intersection between figures of the Dada movement in Zurich and Jung’s circle. It will show how, with his formulation of the mandala, Jung conceived of symbolic expressions as a means of psychological integration. At the same time Erich Neumann, one of Jung’s students, developed a psychology of art which in its appreciation of modern art was counterposed to Jung’s critical stance.

A drinks reception will follow this event.
