Speaker information

Dr Julia Roncoroni

At an international level, poor treatment adherence is a significant public health concern. Research has consistently demonstrated that inadequate treatment adherence leads to higher rates of morbidity and mortality and also to increased health care costs. Patient-centred culturally sensitive health care (PC-CSHC) has been identified as a best-practice approach for improving treatment adherence and, consequently health outcomes. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the association of patient-centred culturally sensitive health care with patient satisfaction and treatment adherence. This presentation will also introduce and discuss novel instruments to measure patient-centred culturally sensitive at a provider, staff, and health care site (i.e. clinic environment) level.
