UCL Grand Challenges Masterclass - How to Write for The Conversation

Location

Room B02 | Chandler House (link Map)
2 Wakefield Street | London | WC1N 1PF | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The Conversation is a collaboration between academics and journalists to provide informed news analysis that is free to read and republish. They disseminate content to more than 12,000 sites worldwide. That gives our content a global reach of 20 million readers a month, and growing. If you are interested in writing for the media – and want your research to have the widest possible impact – there is no better place to start.

In this masterclass Politics and Society deputy editor Andrew Naughtie will take you through the steps towards writing for The Conversation; from working out whether your idea is newsworthy, to the initial pitch, to writing clear, concise copy, and working with an editor towards publication. The session will be followed by a Q&A with Andrew.

Please note this event is only open to UCL PhD Students and Early Career Researchers.
