Speaker information

John Agard

John Agard, highly-acclaimed playwright and poet and recipient of Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry, opens UCL English department's celebration of London and literature: One Day in the City.

Experience perfectly pitched speech, rousing oratory and performance from the author of We Brits, Einstein the Girl that hated maths and Goldilocks on CCTV. In this keynote address Agard will explore the joy and thrill of London and words through a range of famous and not-so-famous characters, who have made London their home or place of work and play.

The lecture will be followed by Q&A and a book signing.
