Experimental Psychology Seminar: Spatial navigation in neurodegenerative lesion models

Location

Room 305 | 26 Bedford Way (link Map)
London | WC1H 0DS | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

The first Experimental Psychology seminar of the new Term will be on Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

Michael Hornberger, University of East Anglia - Spatial navigation in neurodegenerative lesion models Abstract: “In my talk I will present data showing how neurodegenerative lesion models (Alzheimer’s Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia) can be employed for the investigation of spatial navigation processes in the human brain. More specifically, I will show recent data showing how neurodegenerative syndromes and their prodromal forms show different allocentric and egocentric navigation patterns and how this relates to the underlying atrophy in these patients. I will discuss how the results inform better diagnosis and treatment of those patients and also theoretical models of spatial navigation.”

The host for the seminar will be Hugo Spiers (h.spiers@ucl.ac.uk).

Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.
