How can I facilitate meaningful conversations with stakeholders?

Maple House Boardroom (Suite 1A) (link Map)
149 Tottenham Court Road | London | W1T 7NF | United Kingdom

Open to: Academic | Student

At the core of Public Engagement (PE) and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) is conversation. We believe that research should include public and patient voices, and that this inclusion leads to better outcomes for all.

Moving from that belief to actually facilitating conversations can be quite a leap, particularly for those without training or experience. In this session, we will interrogate different ways of facilitating meaningful conversations with public and patient groups, and other key stakeholder groups.

We will begin the session with some brief case studies, leading to conversations wherein all attending can discuss and experiment with facilitation techniques.

This is part of a series of events to support those across the UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences (SLMS) working in Public Engagement and Patient and Public Involvement. These take place regularly, focussing on different topics each time.
