Speaker information

Professor Jayant S Vaidya, Professor of Surgery & Oncology, UCL Research Department of General Surgery

I have a long-standing fascination with trying to understand the human body, particularly when it begins to malfunction, and have been fortunate to have family, friends and mentors who have promoted a questioning mind. Please come to share my experiences of standing on their shoulders and pushing the boundaries of our ignorance. The topics will include physiology, surgery, statistics and tobacco eradication, as well as endeavours to save time, money, breasts and lives with targeted intraoperative radiotherapy for patients with breast cancer. - Jayant S Vaidya, Professor of Surgery and Oncology

17:00 for 17.15 inaugural lecture followed by a drinks reception at 18.15
