Speaker information

Maureen Fordham, Visting Professor, IRDR

The resilience concept is everywhere in the global policy environment. However, resilience remains a highly contested notion, in any of its many framings.

This presentation views resilience through a gender responsive lens; noting that, despite decades of gender work, around 50% of the world's population remain marginalized to varying degrees. Just referring to 'people' obscures critical inequalities. Gender? Responsive? Resilience? All need deconstructing.
