Speaker information

Dr Tim Beasley-Murray, SSEES & Global Citizenship

When Diogenes of Sinope, the Greek philosopher, claimed to be a “citizen of the whole world”, his listeners knew then that he was mad for certain. This lecture will examine the difficulties and importance of global citizenship today, and the contentious concept of ‘global fellow feeling’ that it needs to be based in.
