The international workshop highlights Kant's and Herschel's cosmology from different perspectives. Kant's view of the universe is grounded on philosophical principles, whereas Herschel's view is informed by observations and by his activity as a composer. The workshop explores these different approaches, as well as the shared background of experimental sciences.

Following the session, at 7pm will be 'The Harmony of the Spheres: A Concert' where the works of William Herschel will be performed by Sara Stowe and Matthew Spring, there will also be an exhibition presented by the UK Herschel Team – Department of Physics and Astronomy (UCL).
