This panel discussion and question and answer session will explore:

How big is the gender difference in the impact of disasters?

  • Overall statistics
  • Specific examples

Why does this gender bias exist?

What is being done to address this bias?

  • Policies - from governments, international bodies, regulators, NGOs, etc.
  • Direct action initiatives
  • What strategies are effective to address this gender imbalance?
